Senators John Sampson, Malcolm Smith, and others stand in an exposed position after the a report from the state Inspector General painted them as “bungling, reckless and rotten to the core,” according to a report in the New York Daily News.
The report states that Samson “personally leaked confidential information about competing bidders to AEG lobbyist Carl Andrews – a former state senator who was among the army of well-paid lobbyists who swarmed the process, in Fisch’s words, like ‘locusts.’

According to the New York Daily News, Senator John Sampson is unlikely to retain his leadership position among Democrats if he is re-elected. Even fellow Democrats are saying that Sampson’s “bad decisions” make his presense in a leadership role untenable.
